Ekabo! My Ancestors are the Olaoye Clan of Nupe of Northern Nigeria who moved thru Ethiopia, Brazil, the Caribbean Islands and finally Turtle Island(Americas). In respect, I acknowledge your powerful Ancestors who crossed the middle passage.Preparing to be fully initiated in the Egungun Society. The Olaoye Clan were Chiefs who taught Egungun worship to the masses in Nigeria before the destruction of slavery.I am a child of Orinsan'la and a daughter of both waters.(Yemonja/Oshun) Omo Orisa with ASE! Dance brought me to the Orisa! A West Philly girl, Performing Artist, Playwright, Dance/Theatre Instructor and Sekere Percussionist.Iyalosha would always say to me "If you were a man, you would be a Babalawo." Later, when my head was marked we both found out I was actually born to be Ifa/Orunmila's wife(Apetebii)from the very beginning and for life. No, Not an Iyanifa. Today... I am very busy pulling all these pieces together to rebuild our foundation for my bloodline. Minding my own bizness and fulfilling my chosen destiny.Croning gracifully while looking forward to the next half of my journey on Earth. Sharing hope, light and positive information is my uttermost passion through the medium of the ARTS. Daily doing inner work and healing from the past. Orisa ni ma sin! Orisa ni ma sin!Dance.Sing.Laugh.Travel.Praise.Sweat. Breathe.Love.Live. LIVE NOW!! Dat's me, Yo. 100 Sekeres is the brainchild of MAMA YEYE, best known as the Sekere Woman of Atlanta.
